LaHeRS team participated in the European Public Health (EPH) Conference 2025 in Helsinki, between 11-14 November 2025 completing an inspiring four-day programme filled with scientific sessions, capacity-building activities, and collaborations with colleagues from across Europe. Our team contributed actively through poster presentations, participation in workshops on injury prevention, mental health, and domestic violence, as well as through engagement in discussions related to migrant health, occupational safety, and the broader challenges of equity in public health.
Throughout the conference, LaHeRS joined forces with partners from the EUPHA Injury Prevention & Safety Promotion Section, EuroSafe, the EU-IDB Network, and several interdisciplinary EUPHA sections, strengthening its role in European research networks. Issues such as post-injury mental health outcomes, supporting victims of violence, and the protection of female migrant workers were at the heart of the scientific dialogue, highlighting the need for holistic, evidence-based approaches across sectors.
Beyond the academic programme, the EPH Conference offered the team a chance to experience the unique atmosphere of Helsinki. The city’s serene landscapes, crisp Nordic air, modern architecture and warm hospitality created the perfect backdrop for reflection and creativity.
