The event was part of a greater campaign that took place from 4th to the 11th of May 2018. The aim was to inform the public and promote road safety measures and viable traffic and pedestrian behaviors. The activities implemented were part of the European program CIVITAS Destinationsand the Technical University of Crete in collaboration with the municipality of Rethymnon. In addition, the week-long event was also backed by the Department of Education and the Department of Planning and Development of the municipality of Rethymnon, as well as the Directory of Primary Education and the Association of Students’ Parents of the Municipality of Rethymnon.
On Wednesday 9th of May 2018, LaHeRS took part in the event in Rethymnon. The course presented targeted students of the primary schools in the municipality, andincluded presentations with audiovisual components that focused on educating the students of risky and appropriate behaviors on the road, informing and sensitizing them to road safety culture and behavior through activities that implement emotive learning.
