An important online conference on “Equality Policies-Modern Approach, Analysis, Recommendations” was organized by the Regional Committee for Gender Equality (PEPIS) of Epirus, under the auspices of the Secretary General. Demographic and Family Policy and Gender Equality, on Wednesday 29 September.
The meeting was greeted by the governor of Epirus Al. Kachrimanis, the Undersecretary of Labor and Social Affairs in charge of Demographic and Family Policy and Gender Equality Maria Syregela and the Secretary General of Demographic and Family Policy and Gender Equality Gianna Hormova.
From the Region of Crete, the meeting was attended by Mr. Lambros Vamvakas, Deputy Regional Minister of Public Health and Social Policy of the Region of Crete, President of PEPIS Crete and Dr. Maria Papadakaki, Assistant Professor of Social Work at the Department of Social Work of the Hellenic Mediterranean University.
Dr. Papadakaki presented the actions of the Region of Crete (in the framework of a contract ςιτη τηε Hellenic Mediterranean University) for the prevention and timely treatment of “Harassment in the Workplace” in collaboration with the Laboratory of Health and Road Safety (LaHeRS) of the Hellenic Mediterranean University. She also presented a new website ( https://supportworker.hmu.gr/ ) and a guide ( https://supportworker.hmu.gr/el/info/%CE%9F%CE%B4%CE%B7%CE%B3%CF%8C%CF%82.pdf ) created by the Hellenic Mediterranean University with the support of the Region of Crete to inform and guide employees and employers in harassment issues as well as recent research data from the Region of Crete on the frequency of harassment in the private and public sectors.
