The mobile unit for learning dissabilities (HMU) at the 5th Panhellenic Interdisciplinary Conference on ADHD

The mobile Learning Disabilities Unit of HMU (https://learnconsult.hmu.gr/) was presented at a round table entitled “The first Mobile Unit for Learning Difficulties and ADHD in Greece: Conclusions and proposals after 3 years of operation” in the context of the 5th Panhellenic Interdisciplinary Congress on ADHD “From Child to Adult” which took place in Heraklion, Crete (Ibis Styles Heraklion- Central Hotel) between September 29 and October 1, 2023. The purpose of the 5th Congress was the interdisciplinary view for the understanding of ADHD and the management of its chronic symptoms in education, health and quality of life, within a context of comorbidity with other disorders. The Conference was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, the Region of Crete, the Municipality of Heraklion of Crete, the Child Psychiatric Society, the Pan-Cretan Pediatric Society, the Hellenic Brain Council and in collaboration with scientific bodies. Among the presentations included in the HMU round table were the following:

  • Design, organization and operation of the Mobile Unit for Learning Difficulties and ADHD in the Region of Crete – Maria Papadakaki, Associate Professor, Department of Social Work, Hellenic Mediterranean University, Director of the Laboratory of Health and Road Safety (LaHeRS), Scientific manager of Mobile Unit.
  • The profile of the families that addressed the Mobile Unit during its 3 years of operation – Stavroula Lioliou, Psychologist AUTH, PhD Candidate, Department of Social Work, Hellenic Mediterranean University.
  • Educational Evaluation: Conclusions and Challenges Related to Tools and Delivery – Nikolaos Bitsakos, Educator, Postdoctoral Researcher, Department of Philosophical and Social Studies, University of Crete, Research Associate at the Laboratory of Health and Road Safety (LaHeRS) & Ioannis Giosis, MSc Special Educator, Researcher Health and Road Safety (LaHeRS) Laboratory Associate.
